No direction, no purpose and wondering from one thing to another like a nomad in the desert. arid, dry and thirsty, wanting something so badly but not knowing what it is you need. Hunger starts to set in, but what should you eat? You want to settle the hunger pains, but you want something that will satisfy your longing.
What is your purpose in life? If only you knew, because purpose brings direction and direction brings destination, and destination brings with it your goals to obtain.
You are more than just a biological, electrical chemical machine, for if that were all you are, life would have no real lasting purpose.
Let’s first ask the question, what is most important to you? Something you must have and could not live without. Let’s move beyond the tangible things in life, we came into this life with nothing, and we will not take anything with us when we pass away from this life.
This leaves the intangible, those things in life that are not physical. So, what are we left with?
There will come a day when family, friends, classmates, co-workers, acquaintances and all the people who crossed your path in life will have something to say about you. At the end of your days in life, what is it you want people to say about you? What do you want your epitaph to read?
“Manny was a great husband and father, he always made time for his family. He always supported his wife’s dreams and goals. He was at all his children’s plays, recitals, and games.”
“Karen was the kindest and the most giving person you would ever want to meet. She gave tirelessly to the local shelter and volunteered to always help those in need.”
Whatever is most important to you in life, that is what your purpose is in life.
“Look for that higher purpose.”
