I am dating this person and I wonder if they want to take it to the next level and get serious?
Foremost, if you want to know something, you should ask.  Quite often, we overlook the obvious.  If you are talking one day about getting more serious, and they do not match by agreeing, or they are just not into the discussion, and this has happened several times, this is a telling sign they are not ready to take the relationship to the next level at this time. I am assuming you have already discussed your wants, needs, desires, and you know what both of you want in a relationship, because if you are not getting what it is you need after discussing those things, and they are not matching what you want and need, it may very well be they are not ready to take it to the next level. At this time, you will have to make a decision as to how long you are willing to wait.
